Information we collect
We collect minimal information. If you join the newsletter, we store your email address. We use standard analytics (cookies) to understand how visitors use the site. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties.
Cookies
We use cookies for analytics and to remember your preferences (e.g., selected filters). You can disable cookies in your browser settings.
Every Type of Data We Collect
The full list. If it is not on this table, we do not collect it.
| Data | Why | Who else sees it | Kept |
|---|---|---|---|
| Email address | Only if you sign up for price or recall alerts | Our email provider, to deliver the alert | Until you ask us to delete it |
| Products you set an alert on | To know when to email you | Nobody outside our own systems | Until you ask us to delete it |
| Anything you type into the newsletter or contact form | To reply to you | Our email provider. These are not stored in a database, they arrive as an email to us | As long as the message sits in our inbox |
| Pages viewed, referring site, approximate region, device and browser type | Aggregate traffic measurement | Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless | Aggregate only, never tied to you |
| Which retailer link was clicked, and from which page | To see which comparisons are useful and to attribute commission | The retailer you land on, under its own policy | Not linked to your email or account |
| Server logs, including IP address | To run and secure the site | Our hosting provider | Short-term, per the host's retention |
No passwords and no payment details, because BabyGear has no login and sells nothing directly. We do not sell, rent, or trade any of it.
Deleting your data
You can ask us to delete anything we hold about you. Email hello@babygearhere.com from the address you signed up with. Requests are handled by hand, so allow up to 30 days, and we will confirm once it is done.
Two clarifications so you know what you are asking for. Price and recall alerts are stored in our database: the unsubscribe link in any email stops the emails right away by marking the subscription inactive, but the record itself is only erased if you ask us to delete it. Newsletter signups and contact form messages are not stored in a database at all, they simply arrive as an email to us, so deleting those means deleting that message.
Third-party links
Our site contains links to Amazon, Target, Walmart, and other retailers. These sites have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review. We are not responsible for their practices.
